EXE Track Day - Winton Raceway

I attended my first ever track day not really know what to expect of myself or my car.

My practice session was filled with excitement and fear as I struggled to learn the track and how to control my car at speed around corners. I came out of the practice session with frayed nerves and was completely on edge. My initial reaction was that track days are not for me.

Once I had calmed down, I regained my composure and decided to face my fears and head into the first session. Before going in, I also got some advice from Silas about what gears to be in for each corner. This time around, it was actually fun! I had memorised the track and knew what gear to be in, so all I had to do was drive and didn't need to fight my fear of the unknown.

At the end of the day, I achieved a personal best time of 1:49.843.

Specs for track day:

Everything stock except for 17" Nismo LMGT4 with 225/45/17 Bridgestone RE55S.

A mod for me this time - a helmet. Jally got it for me as an early birthday present.

Stay within the lines!

The red lines indicate the parking space, there is more than ample room for the white car. Yet the driver still cannot park the car properly...

Alinta Network Services - part 3.1

The touch-up paint was delivered to me today by Nunz. There is now finally closure to this whole debacle.

Alinta Network Services - part 3

The guy (Nunz) I spoke to from Alinta Asset Management paid a visit to my parents' place along with another guy (Steve). They had a look at the damage on my parents' car and Steve started speculating that a workman carrying his tools "wouldn't" have caused that damage. This didn't surprise me as Steve looked like a workman himself. Seeing as he wanted to play that game, I got fired up and began retorting is argument.

Nunz on the other hand, saw where the conversation was leading and asked Steve to calm down. I said to Nunz that we were not seeking to gain anything financially out of this incident and we merely wanted a record of the incident. He could see the damage and agreed to purchase a bottle of touch up paint for us. We were satisfied with the outcome.

Lastly, let me just say this: Steve, YOU ARE A TOOL!

Alinta Network Services - part 2.2

I received a phone call today from a guy at Alinta Asset Management regarding my complaint letter. The matter has been escalated to him and he has discussed it with the area manager. He wanted to arrange a time to come out to my parent's place to have a look at the car. Date and time has been arranged, now lets see what this guy has to say. Watch this space.

Alinta Network Services - part 2

I called up Alinta Network Services to ask them what they would do about the damage done to my parents' car. I was referred to the area manager for the gas works in my parents' suburb. He said his workman denied doing any damage to the car and he would not be doing anything about the matter. These people need to have the truth beaten out of them!

Anyway, a complaint letter has been sent to Alinta Network Services and Whitehorse City Council. We shall see what happens.

Air Cap

Someone has stolen one of the air caps off my tyres. Who the fuck steals one air cap worth less than 50 cents???!!! I must say that some people are turning to shit and deserve to be flushed down the toilet of society.

Alinta Network Services

Alinta Network Services performed some maintenance on gas pipes in the suburb where my parents live. The work involved replacing the gas pipes that run into the gas meter. The gas meter at my parents' home is at the back of the house and accessing it involves either walking through the car port or taking the long way around through the garden. I had tied a rope across the entrance of the car port to prevent the workers from walking through the car port. The workers disregarded this and still walked through the car port with their tools! As a result, they ended up leaving hand marks all over my parents' car and to make matters worse, they put three chips in the paint! Obviously, my parents and I are not impressed. My blood boils when I encounter trades people who have no respect for other people's property!
